When drama screams

And if silence communicates more than high drama, it is because, when people fall silent, the deafening noise makes the drama scream. It is not a matter of the present, but of accumulated memory; it is history that imposes this heartlessness, with or without a soul. And when the soul speaks, everyone falls silent, for it vowed never to silence inkless bodies unless it were to mask its own joy. It watches in silence, breaks into laughter, and rises anew from its own shadow to reveal the splendid heartbeat it never possessed but knows others will admire.

As evening falls, the petals that failed to drive away the flies drift to the ground; now it sings with laughter, its voice resounding at the threshold of any hearth devoid of firewood, bringing only a bag of hope, three burning coals, and a blanket, in case it is invited to stay for dinner.

And in the early hours, she is welcome to extend her stay; never had there been such a gleam in an attic secured by a simple latch, a makeshift pin, and with little water to hold back from the outside.
